Tecnología Marítima, S.A. - TEMSA Unloading Terminal

TEMSA Located in the modern port of Puerto Quetzal on the Pacific Coast of Guatemala, TEMSA has been the only dedicated coal unloading facility in Central America since July 1999.

Originally designed as a dedicated coal unloading facility to handle imported coal for the San José Power Station, TEMSA now provides services to third parties unloading other bulk products.

TEMSA logoTEMSA unloads in excess of one million metric tons (MT) of coal and other hydrocarbon products imported into Guatemala every year. The site has a storage capacity of up to 100,000 (MT) and has the potential for expansion. Upon unloading, coal and other products are trucked 18 miles to the San José Power Station, as well as to other destinations inside Guatemala.

The facility is sized to receive Handymax self-unloading vessels of approximately 50,000 MT with a draft of 11.4 meters.
