Juan C. Villa joined TECO Energy as an engineer in June 1995, and was promoted to Director Business Development and Asset Management for TECO Guatemala, Inc. in October 2006. He has been involved since the beginning with the international business, and has been a key figure in the negotiation and development of both power plants in Guatemala, and in the purchase of TECO's 30% stake in the DECAII, the company that controls Empresa Eléctrica de Guatemala (EEGSA). Juan serves as TECO Guatemala's representative to the Ownership Board of DECAII, along side our partners Iberdrola of Spain and Electricidad de Portugal (EDP), and serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors of EEGSA and other affiliate companies, including INVELCA, IDEAMSA, AMESA, and as a Board Member of NAVEGA.

Leading to his current responsibilities, Juan has held positions of increasing responsibility with the TECO family of companies. Previously, he was Director of Power origination at TECO Energy Source, and Manager of Development, Project Engineer, and Fuel Coordinator at TECO Power Services.

Juan earned B.S. and M.S. degrees from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.
